Amjee Keyzom Bhutti is teaching Tibetan Medicine to students in the U.S. - Tibetan Herbal Healing

Amjee Keyzom Bhutti is now teaching Tibetan Medicine to students in the U.S.

The material is taught from four main books called Tantras which Dr. Bhutti translates into English for the classes. She will also be including information gleaned from her 25 years experience in practice.

The program is divided into 4 semesters of approximately 10 weeks each. A general outline of the content is as follows:

  • The first semester will be a general introduction to Tibetan medicine and some of the concepts which will be required in the later semesters.
  • The second semester will be pulse reading and diagnosis and the different concepts relating pulses to diagnosis.
  • The third semester will be making medical preparations from different herbs. A Tibetan doctor has to know how to make the medicines in addition to diagnosis.
  • The last semester will be an overview of all the three semesters and how to apply this in practice to arrive at a correct diagnosis.

The classes will be an hour and half, twice a week.

Currently, Dr. Bhutti has 6 students, all of them from different backgrounds. Three of them know about Buddhism whereas three have only heard about Tibet.

Within some limits Dr. Bhutti can adjust the classes to suit the schedule of the students.

Once the four semesters are mastered, the students will have the opportunity to sit along with Dr. Bhutti and check patients under her tutelage to gain practical experience.
